There is still plenty of transfer speculation involving Arsenal with just nine days of the transfer window remaining. The fee to prize Youri Tielemans away from Leicester City has seemed to have taken a plummet as they try to make as much money as they can before the Belgian can leave on a free next summer.
Pedro Neto continues to be linked with a move to north London, with Fabrizio Romano updating that the Portuguese player is interested in the offer but have also shown interest in Moussa Diaby and Yeremy Vino should a deal collapse from now until September 1st.
The side still have outgoings to sort, with fringe player Hector Bellerin attracting the interest of Barcelona and Nicolas Pepe edges closer to completing a return to France with Lille on a season-long loan, with both deals set to be finalised in the coming days.
Arsenal have had the perfect start to the 2022/23 campaign, winning all of their opening three Premier League fixtures – the only team in the division to do so. That leaves the North Londoners sitting pretty at the top of the table, with newly-promoted Fulham up next this weekend.
The Cottagers are also undefeated so far this term and will be no easy task for the Gunners, who welcome them to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.
With that being said, keep the blog locked and loaded as we bring you all the latest transfer news from the Emirates.
Arteta can fulfill Emery’s transfer mission
Emery wanted Zaha then and revealed exclusively to football.london why in 2021 . He said: “I usually want to sign first the players I know there. When we played against Crystal Palace, Zaha showed he was a very good player.
“I also think Nicolas Pepe is a very good player. When you make the decision you have to decide how easy the adaption will be of some players. I was thinking the adaption was easier for Zaha because he was playing in the Premier League and you didn’t know exactly how fast Nicolas Pepe can adapt to the Premier League because I know you can need some time to adapt. I was thinking at this time that the adaption of Zaha was probably easier and faster than Pepe.”
That has proved to be the case, with Pepe struggling to adapt to life in the Premier League. Pepe looks set to join Nice on loan this summer and Zaha could finally come in.
Arsenal’s links to Youri Tielemans has been ongoing throughout the summer transfer window without any serious breakthrough. But, with the Gunners losing out on potential alternatives, Edu must push through with the deal.
The north London side had been linked to Lucas Paqueta before the opening of the summer transfer window. Italian news outlet Calciomercato reported that the Gunners were interested in signing the Lyon midfielder.
However, The Athletic’s David Ornstein has claimed that West Ham are working on a deal to sign the Brazilian midfielder from Lyon. A bid worth €40million (£35million) has been made with talks advancing over a fee and personal terms to complete a deal. With another potential alternative to Tielemans being taken off the market, it is pivotal that Arsenal complete a deal before also losing out on Belgian.
Campbell on Ramsdale
Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has praised Arsenal’s defence for keeping Bournemouth quiet at the weekend.
Speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Campbell said: “On the scheme of things, Aaron Ramsdale was a spectator, he had just one save to make and that was actually probably going wide, but it was just to get his kit dirty I think.
“He made that save, but if you don’t get on the pitch and do the business these games can be banana skins, but Arsenal are making it look easy.”
Pedro Neto ‘tempted’ by Arsenal transfer
Pedro Neto is reportedly tempted by Arsenal’s interest in bringing him to the Emirates this transfer window.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on his ‘Here We Go’ podcast, the player is keen on a move to North London, but Mikel Arteta needs to resolve potential outgoings, with Nicolas Pepe close to completing a season-long loan switch back to Ligue 1 with Lille.
Arsenal are still considering making a move for Villarreal starlet Yeremy Pino if they fail to secure a deal to sign Wolves winger Pedro Neto, according to the Express.
The Gunners are looking to add a wide option to their squad, especially if club-record signing Nicolas Pepe is to leave.
