Crystal Palace started the game brightly but it was short-lived as Arsenal turned the tables and went on to dominate the first half.
The Gunners went two goals up and it seemed like Palace had lost their way. Arsenal’s early goals completely shattered Palace’s confidence and they struggled to regain their momentum.
Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka were in scintillating form for Arsenal, with the latter proving to be the real golden boy. However, it was Ben White who stole the show.
The defender was more aggressive than usual and put in one of his best performances in an Arsenal shirt. He was instrumental in Arsenal’s attacking play and Palace had no answer to his movements.
Despite a slightly shaky start, Thomas Partey managed to find his rhythm after 15 minutes and played a crucial role in Arsenal’s midfield. The intelligence of White and the energy of Holding helped Arsenal maintain their dominance over the Eagles.
All in all, it was a solid first half from Arsenal, with Ben White shining bright. Palace will need to come up with something special in the second half to overcome Arsenal’s impressive display.
