Timo Werner reveals why he scores more goals for Germany than Chelsea in latest post-match interview

Chelsea striker Timo Werner is currently enjoying his international break with the German national team.

Werner has endured a tough second season at Chelsea with game time and attacking returns being a rarity but the former Leipzig man is presently at the top of his game during the international break as he scored Germany’s second goal in their two-nil win over Israel last night.

While Werner remains a potent and reliable goalscorer for his country, it’s a whole different story at club level with just one premier league goal to his name more than halfway into the current season.

The striker was quizzed post-match last night about the contrast in his goalscoring form for club and country and according to him, it all hinges on the style of play as the German national team play differently from Chelsea.

Timo Werner: “There are differences in the style of play between football at Chelsea and here [Germany Maybe the one at the national team suits me better. Here, I always have scoring chances, I can score goals. I feel very comfortable here.”
