It’s no longer news that Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been stripped of his captaincy duties at Arsenal due to a disciplinary breach.
The club confirmed that the 32-year old will also be unavailable for selection for their game against West Ham tonight as part of punishment for not reporting on time to prepare for their previous game against Southampton.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel while speaking to the media earlier today was asked about the situation of Aubameyang who happens to be one of his former players during his time at Borussia Dortmund and the German gaffer gave a classy reply.
Thomas Tuchel: “I will at some point [speak to him]. I don’t want to disturb. He was very important player for me, we had a close relationship. I can say only the best things about Auba as a player and person.”
Thomas Tuchel: “I feel sorry that he is in trouble. I’m not involved with what’s going on in his club, so I want to show respect to judge what’s right and wrong.”
Recall that Thomas Tuchel and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang enjoyed success together during their time at Borrusia Dortmund and Tuchel once rated Aubameyang alongside Kylian Mbappe amongst the best players he has ever worked with.
