Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has spoken highly of 22-year old forward Kai Havertz amidst the players recent role as a key player for Chelsea.
Havertz has scored four times for Chelsea in all competitions this season playing as a false 9 and in different attacking positions this season.
The German’s versatility is one of the attributes that stand him out and the player could still stake his place in the Chelsea starting lineup despite the return to full fitness of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner and Thomas Tuchel has revealed the player’s best position.
“I think actually he can be whatever he is on any position, and I do not think that his behaviour is so much different if he plays as a high number 10 or as a nine.” The Chelsea said while speaking to the Chelsea website.
“I just want him to do what he is doing on the best level. He has fantastic potential, and he is still super young. I think adaption happens anyway because the league and opponents and the club where he is we demand it.”
“So it will happen on a very natural and healthy level, and he has the quality to adapt different positions and his style.”
Havertz is just in his second season at Chelsea after completing a big money move from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2020 and he’d hoping his stock continues to rise as he helps the Blues challenge for titles this season.
