Thomas Tuchel confirms Chelsea team news ahead of FA Cup tie with Chesterfield

Chelsea host Chesterfield in the FA Cup tommorow and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was speaking to the media ahead of the clash earlier today.

Chelsea have been missing some key players in recent weeks and in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Tottenham, they had the likes of N’golo Kanté, Thiago Silva and Trevoh Chalobah out with Covid and injuries.

Kai Havertz broke a finger against Tottenham on Wednesday while Timo Werner returned to action and Tuchel has confirmed that both players could feature against Chesterfield tommorow alongside Cesar Azpilicueta who suffered Cramp on Wednesday night and Andreas Christensen who’s missed the last two games with an injury and

Thomas Tuchel: “There are not so many news, which is good news. The long-term injuries won’t be back. Azpilicueta cramp, no injury. Kai’s finger is OK. Andreas Christensen was in training, hopefully no reaction. We have another training session later, I will speak to doctors…”

The Chelsea gaffer also hinted at continuing with a back four due to the current unavailability of two wing-backs and two centre-backs, a system which worked against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

The game against Chesterfield is definitely one to give minutes to players in need of minutes and Chelsea are set to show their opponents respect with a strong lineup tomorrow, Tuchel confirmed.
