Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has been linked with a move to Barca in the summer on a free transfer.
The Dane’s contract expires in the summer and he’s so far refused to sign an extension with Chelsea and according to reports, a three-year deal being agreed with Barcelona is at the final stages of conclusion.
Thomas Tuchel was asked about the situation in his press-conference earlier today and he admitted that the player’s future is in doubt.
“It’s in doubt. We are not happy about it. Me and the club think it’s best for him to stay. He did not sign yet. We have to consider the possibility he leaves us. I have no information at all.” Tuchel said.
“If things happen, I try not to take them personally. He is still our player, we will do what is best for us. He is a Chelsea player. He knows we appreciate him a lot.”
“Considering all these circumstances, for me, it’s the decisive moment for him to step up to be a Chelsea player for the next years. I will treat him as my player until the very last day.”
Christensen has not played in Chelsea’s last few games with reports saying that the centre-back purposely withdrew from the squad in order to complete his move to Barca.
