Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is one player that continues to age like fine wine. Despite being at the twilight of his footballing career, the 37-year old Brazilian still produces top level performances for club and country on a regular basis, little wonder he remains a mainstay in both the Chelsea team and the Brazilian national team despite being 37-years old.
The former PSG and AC Milan defender recently spoke on his illustrious career and he’s pointed out two coaches who have helped him to continue achieving his dream of playing at the highest level.
“It’s so special for me, at 37 years of age, to still be playing at the highest level. There are two that have made and continue to make that possible for me and that’s Tuchel here at Chelsea and Tite, the coach of the Brazilian national team.” Silva told the Chelsea website.
The vetetan centre-back went further to praise Thomas Tuchel who according to him is just an incredible guy.
“First of all, Tuchel is an excellent coach. Tactically, technically, and on the mental side, he is first rate – but the other thing about him is how he is as a human being. He really just is an incredible guy.”
Thiago Silva helped Chelsea to champions league triumph last season and he continues to be an influential member of the Chelsea team this season, scoring two goals and keeping multiple cleansheets in Chelsea’s title charge.
