Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel faced the media ahead of his side’s premier league clash with Watford on Wednesday night.
Tuchel provided some team news ahead of the premier league encounter as the Blues have struggled with some fitness issues in the past weeks.
The gaffer confirmed that midfield duo N’golo Kanté and Matteo Kovacic are still injured and won’t be available to face Watford while Romelu Lukaku is pushing to get more minutes after returning from an ankle injury just recently.
Ben Chilwell is also out obviously while Jorginho, Timo Werner and Reece James are doubts after picking up minor knocks against Man Utd last weekend.
The trio all started the game against Man Utd and would later be assessed if they’re to play a part in Wednesday night’s game against Watford. They’ve all been involved in some light training though.
Jorginho’s potential unavailability could be a huge blow to Chelsea as they’re already without N’golo Kanté and Matteo Kovacic. Jorginho being unavailable could therefore leave Chelsea with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Saúl Niguez as the two most natural midfield options. Ross Barkley is another option but the English midfielder is more suited to a three man midfield than a double pivot.
