Chelsea academy graduate Tammy Abraham has enjoyed a brilliant first season so far at Italian Serie A side AS Roma.
The striker left Chelsea on a permanent deal last summer and has adapted to life really well in Rome.
Over the past month or so, several reports from Italy have suggested that Abraham would like to return to Chelsea in the future as the London club is said to have a buy-back clause of €80 million inserted in the deal that saw the England international join AS Roma last summer. It is however pertinent to note that the clause does not become active until 2023.
Italian media outlet II tempo are in any case suggesting a different thing entirely as according to a report by Sport Witness, tempo have reviewed the ‘idea of a return to Chelsea for the striker’ after he declared his love for Rome and his current club following their recent 1-0 win over Spezia.
Tempo report that AS Roma fans are worried about a potential return of Tammy Abraham to Chelsea. However, it is a scenario that can become possible only with the consent of the player who “at the moment, doesn’t seem to have any intention of returning to England”.
