William Saliba has revealed he might be interested in staying at Marseille but insists the decision is to be made by Arsenal.
Saliba 21,joined Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and hasn’t played a single minute for the club ever since as he has been on loan to various Ligue 1 sides including Saint Etienne, Nice and is currently at Marseille where he is having an amazing season.
With a stable backline in Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White it will be interesting to see how manager Mikel Arteta will fit in William Saliba to the Gunners backline that has been solid this season although reports have emerged that the defender is part of the Spaniard’s plan.
With Marseille in driving sit for a champions league finish as they currently sit second in the league, the now French international believes staying at Marseille might not be a bad idea.
Speaking in an interview with RMC sport the defender said “I think discussions will take place afterwards, at the end of May to early June, between Arsenal and Marseille. We’ll decide at that point. But staying here would definitely not be a bad idea.”
He further added “On the contrary, I know the city, my teammates, my manager. But it doesn’t depend on me, we’ll see how it goes, but it also depends on Arsenal who must give their ‘Alright’. We’ll see.”
This news will come with some sort of mixed emotions for the Arsenal fans as majority of them have envisaged seeing the highly talented prospect in Arsenal colors, and the club would not want their top defensive prospect leaving the club without kicking the ball or making an impact.
