The 32-year-old scored one of the goals as Arsenal won the local derby at home on Sunday.
Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has become the player with the most goals against Tottenham Hotspur since his debut against the Gunners’ North London rivals in 2016, when he scored in the Gunners’ derby victory.
Mikel Arteta’s team won the North London derby 3-1 on Sunday, with the Gabon international scoring his eighth goal in his 12th appearance.
In the five years since he scored the opening goal in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-0 hammering of Tottenham, no player has scored more goals against Spurs than the 2015 African Footballer of the Year.
When he was at Dortmund, he scored four goals versus Arsenal, and the other four goals came at Arsenal.
In the 27th minute, Aubameyang doubled the advantage for Mikel Arteta’s side, only minutes after Emile Smith Rowe given Arsenal a flying start at the Emirates Stadium.
In the 34th minute, Bukayo Saka secured the hosts’ excellent start, but Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son narrowed the gap in the 79th minute.
Despite having five goals in all competitions, Aubameyang’s goal on Sunday was only his second league goal in five appearances.
Arsenal has now won three consecutive Premier League games, and with the win, they have ascended to 10th place in the league table with nine points after six games.
Aubameyang recalled his first appearance in the North London derby in December 2018, when he scored in Arsenal’s 4-2 comeback win.
