See How Chelsea Would Line-Up With Mudryk and Felix in Starting XI

Despite currently sitting in tenth place in the Premier League table and ten points behind Manchester United in fourth, Chelsea’s fully fit squad is brimming with talent, particularly after the £88 million acquisition of Mykhailo Mudryk and the loan signing of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.

Manager Graham Potter has been forced to field a makeshift backline in recent weeks, with injuries to key players such as Reece James and Ben Chilwell. However, when fully fit, James and Chilwell are expected to be Potter’s top choices at right and left back, respectively, alongside center-backs Thiago Silva and Wesley Fofana to form a formidable defense.

Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has also been out injured, and midfielder N’Golo Kante, a sure starter when fit, has not played since August. The absence of these key players has given opportunities for players such as Hakim Ziyech, Carney Chukwuemeka, Conor Gallagher and more.

When fully fit, Chelsea’s front line of Raheem Sterling, Felix, and Mudryk would be a formidable force, and even players such as Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Armando Broja, Marc Cucurella, and new signing Benoit Badiashile may not make the starting lineup. However, Sterling is currently injured and Felix is serving a suspension following his red card on debut at Fulham.

The Blues secured a 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace on Sunday, their third win in 12 Premier League games. As Chelsea prepares for a crucial Champions League last-16 meeting with Borussia Dortmund, Potter is anxiously awaiting the return of his injured players to field a fully fit squad and make a push up the league table.
