A Chelsea takeover has been the major issue of the front burner since the UK government’s sanctions on Russian owner Roman Abrahmovich.
The recent happenings and actions taking by the UK government means Abrahmovich can no longer own Chelsea again and even the premier league board have gone ahead to disqualify the Russian billionaire.
The last couple of days have seen Chelsea linked with a potential takeover by an American backed consortium spearheaded by Todd Boehly but as per reports emanating this afternoon via Goal.com ‘s Nizaar Kinsella, a Saudi Arabian takeover could be on the cards.
According to Nizaar Kinsella, it is a group called Saudi Media group and they have big plans for Chelsea including contracts for Rudiger and Azpilicueta, as well as investing heavily into the Cobham training centre and the women’s team.
Saudi Media group are reported to turn over $1 billion per year and would be backed by other Saudi’s, led by Mohamed Alkhereiji who has lived in the UK.
Alkhereiji is said to be a supporter of Chelsea in the Premier league with his kids being big fans of the club as well. He reportedly wants Chelsea to keep winning, build a new stadium asides offering new contracts to key players like Rudiger.
The Saudi group will also review Three’s sponsorship and it is believed they can attract the most Lucrative sponsors to Chelsea.
Saudi Media will be backed by various other and co funded by various other private backers from Saudi Arabia.
Alkherejii is also said to be a fan of Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, for who he built a new state of the art stadium.
