Manchester United travel to Vicarage road to face Claudio Ranieri’s Watford later today and they’d be hoping the trip serves as a stepping stone to them bouncing back from their recent woes.
Watford meanwhile would be hoping to be a tough test for Man Utd as on their own path they’d love to find their mojo under Ranieri.
Francisco Sierralta is out for the Hornets due to injury while Juraj Kucka is suspended following a late red card he received against Arsenal in the last round or EPL matches before the international break.
Meanwhile, Ozan Tufan would have to face a late fitness test and Peter Etebo, Christian Kabesele, Ken Sema and Kwadwo Baah remain sidelined for Watford.
Manchester United on the other hand are set to be without Paul Pogba who got injured during the international break and Raphael Varane remains out injured.
The Red devils could however be boosted by the return of Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford who all trained this week after fitness issues while Edison Cavani’s availability is doubtful following recent fitness issues.
Watford Predicted xi: Foster; Rose, Nkoulou, Cartcath, Femenia; Sissoko, Louza, Tufan; Sarr, King, Dennis
Man Utd Predicted xi: De Gea; Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, Wan-Bisakka; Fred, Matic; Rashford, Fernandes, Greenwood, Ronaldo
The two sides are in a terrible run of form at the moment as they’ve both won just once in their last five games.
Watford’s last game against Arsenal was one out of four losses in their last five while Man Utd’s loss in the Manchester derby the last time out was one out of three losses in their last five with the only draw in this period coming against Everton way back in October.
Head to Head:
Man Utd have enjoyed an almost 100% record against Watford in the premier league. Both sides have clashed 14 times with Man Utd recording 12 wins as against Watford’s two.
In the last three meetings, Man Utd have won twice with Watford winning once.
Both sides are clearly in a poor run of form but Man Utd have the superior fire power to carry the day. Hence, a Man Utd win seems inevitable.
