Watford would be looking to bounce back from their 4-2 defeat away at the King Power last time out while Chelsea would be hoping for an improved performance after playing out a 1-1 draw with Man last Sunday.

Team News:

The Hornets are set to be without a host of key players for tonight’s game as Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr is out with a knee ligament injury which will require a scan in around a month’s time.

Cameroon defender Nicolas Nkoulou is also sidelined with a hamstring till the new year, so is goalkeeper Ben Foster who has been nursing a groin injury.

The Chelsea game comes too soon for Ken Sema who’s been out with a knee injury while Juraj Kucka will have to be assessed after missing Watford’s last game and Francisco Sierralta is making good progress in his return.

Nigeria international Emmanuel Dennis is a doubt for tonight after coming off in the loss to Leicester City and his compatriot Peter Etebo alongside Kwadwo Baah remain long-term absentees.

Chelsea also have their injury problems as Jorginho, Reece James and Timo Werner have all been confirmed as doubts for tonight’s game with Ben Chilwell already looking to spend lots of weeks on the sidelines.

Midfield duo N’golo Kanté and Matteo Kovacic remain out for the Blues while Romelu Lukaku could get a lot more involvement for the first time since his return from an ankle injury.

Current Form:

Watford have won just twice in their last five premier league games, losing the remaining three while their opponents Chelsea are unbeaten in this period, winning three times and drawing twice.

Chelsea have an almost 100% record away from home this season with Anfield being the only away ground the Blues have dropped points this season.

Head to Head:

Chelsea have the superior head to head record after 14 premier league meetings between both sides.

In those 14 meetings, the Blues have won 10 times with the Hornerts winning only twice, meaning the other two meetings ended in draws.

Liverpool have been the only team to take points away from Chelsea this season while the blues are away from home. Hence, Watford won’t find it easy against another big visitor this time after beating Man Utd 4-1 in their last home game.

Both sides would be hoping to be at their best after dropping points last weekend in a 4-2 loss and 1-1 draw respectively but I expect Chelsea to have the upper hand tonight given their superior quality.

Watford 0-2 Chelsea.
