The Blues would be without Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku and Matteo Kovacic with Spanish wing-back Marcos Alonso joining the injury list after picking up a knock in the one nil champions league win over Malmo on Tuesday.
For Burnley, Dale Stephens has returned to full training after a long-term ankle injury but would need game time before his availability for first-team action.
Aaron Lennon on the other hand has struggled with sickness and will be assessed before the game.
