Current Form:

7th placed Arsenal have won three and drawn two of their last five league matches while 16th placed Watford have won just one and drawn one of their last five which means the Hornets have lost three times in this period

Team News:

Swiss midfielder, Granit Xhaka remains a long time absentee for Arsenal while Scottish left-back Kieran Tierney returned to training this week and could feature against Watford.

Watford are boosted by the return of Francisco Sieralta and Kiko Femenia to training as both players are in contention to face Arsenal while centre-back Christian Kabesele is en route to recovery from a hamstring strain.

Watford Predicted xi: Foster; Masina, Troost-Ekong, Nkoulou, Ngakia; Cleverly, Sissoko, Gosling; Sarr, Dennis, King

Head to Head:

In 14 meetings with Watford, Arsenal have won 11 times while the Hornets have beaten the Gunners just twice. Also, there’s been only one draw in this fixture.

In the last three meetings, ArsemAr have won twice with both sides sharing the spoils on one occasion.

Fun Fact:

Watford manager,  Claudio Ranieri has never beaten Arsenal in the Premier League in 11 attempts (D4 L7), losing his last five away league matches against the Gunners. Arsenal are the only side Ranieri has faced at least five times in his top-flight managerial career and never beaten.

Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored six goals in his five Premier League appearances against Watford, netting a brace in both matches against the Hornets in the 2019/20 campaign.

Arsenal have enjoyed so much success in this fixture and with the kind of form Mikel Arteta’s charges are in, I expect them to beat Watford again, though narrowly and stretch their unbeaten run to eight games.
