Manchester United and Manchester City clash on Saturday in the latest installment of the rivalry associated with the Manchester derby.
Man Utd have not been in their best form this season but City boss Pep Guardiola is nevertheless worried about the threat the Red devils possess with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo in the team.
Man Utd equalized twice on Tuesday to salvage a 2-2 draw with Atalanta away in Bergamo in the Uefa Champions League and it was Cristiano Ronaldo who put the red devils level in stoppage time of each halves and Pep Guardiola is very much wary of the Portuguese’ goalscoring threat.
Guardiola: “I didn’t see United match, I’m going to analyse and to see what they are so I know how good they are. We saw it last season. They have one of the best players of history, a guy who can be a scoring machine.”
It is usually said that form is thrown out of the window in big games like the Manchester derby. Hence, despite the odds being stacked against Man Utd, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his men could still come out with a big result on Saturday. Guardiola is aware of this fact and it is expected that the Spaniard comes out with all his armoury this weekend.
