Man United will look to increase the pressure on Real Sociedad in the table as they look for all three points against Omonia at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Man United already know they cannot afford to drop points in the Europa League to avoid finishing second, which would see them play a relegated Champions League side. However, it should be no problem for Erik ten Hag’s men to beat Omonia and Erik ten Hag needs to reshape his squad as they face a tough test against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League. Here is Man United’s preferred line-up to face Omonia on Thursday night.
Goalkeeper: David De Gea
De Gea has been Ten Haga’s best option between the sticks and it should come as no surprise that the Spaniard remains in goal.
- Diogo Dalot,
- Victor Lindelof,
- Raphael Varane,
- Tyrell Malacia
Martinez has started almost every game for Man United this season and this should be a game where he deserves a rest. Malacia should also be given one last chance to redeem himself despite all his disgraceful performances in the Manchester derby and Omonia in the first round.
- Scott Mctominay,
- Christian Eriksen
- Jadon Sancho,
- Anthony Elanga
Fred is definitely not an attacking midfielder, but it has to be done to give the players some rest. Fernandes would have to replace Eriksen in the second half, and as a result Fred would return to his preferred position. Sancho and Elanga should return to the squad and give Antony some much needed rest.
- Cristiano Ronaldo
We all agree that Ronaldo needs to start games now to have more chances to score and gain confidence in front of goal.
