Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is currently on loan at French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marsielle and his performances out on loan has impressed a large majority of the Arsenal faithful.
A lot of fans would certainly want Guendouzi back at Arsenal after his loan spell next summer but the Frenchman has ruled out any possibility of him returning to his parent club.
“Today, I am on loan and still bound by my contract at Arsenal, but I’m totally focused on what to do with Olympique de Marseille,” the Frenchman told RMC Sport.
“And yes, it’s a club with which I want to project myself into the future and I want to join in the long term.
“These are discussions that I had already had with the club before signing and I feel very comfortable there. And that’s why I want to continue to have fun at Olympique de Marseille”
Arsenal might now have to look for a new midfielder in order to bolster their midfield depth next season and AC Milan’s Frank Kessie is one of the names being linked with the Gunners.
Guendouzi’s latest assertion could also have an effect on Arsenal’s transfer activity in the winter as the Gunners might just be forced to make a key decision on a temporary replacement for the African Cup of Nations bound Thomas Partey as Matteo Guendouzi seems to prefer making his Marseille loan spell permanent.
