Manchester United make major appointment that could affect Arsenal

Manchester United have announced that Ed Woodward will leave his role as executive vice-chairman on February 1, with Richard Arnold in line to succeed him as the club’s chief executive.

Woodward has spent 16 years at Old Trafford, overseeing the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, as well as the likes of Robin van Persie in 2012 and Bruno Fernandes in January 2020.

However, the transfer chief will leave his post in just over three weeks time, with Arnold taking over next month.
