Man Utd To Replace Cristiano Ronaldo With Brentford Striker, Ivan Toney

Manchester United are reportedly considering Brentford striker Ivan Toney as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, 37, has been content with a strike substitute role since the arrival of Erik ten Hag last summer, with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial ahead of him.

Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the January window and if that happens, Man Utd are monitoring Toney’s situation ahead of a potential move.

Toney’s current contract with the West London side runs until 2025. Various Premier League clubs are interested in the 26-year-old. However, Bina hopes to tie him to a new contract.

Arriving at Brentford in the summer of 2020, Toney made an immediate impression on Thomas Frank’s side. The English forward helped the Bees successfully fight for promotion to the Premier League.

Toney was once again instrumental in Brentford’s recent campaign. The 26-year-old has made 33 appearances in the English Premier League, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists. And the bees managed to survive the fall.

He has scored six Premier League goals in nine games so far this season.

And his superb form earned him an England call-up for last month’s Nations League games against Italy and Germany.

It comes amid interest from a number of Premo’s quarters, with United joined by Leeds, Newcastle and West Ham in the race for his signature.

It remains to be seen whether Ronaldo will decide to part ways with the Red Devils midway through the campaign. If that happens, will Toney make it to United? The answer will come with time.
