Reports making the rounds in Europe suggest that Manchester United are ready to make a move for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde in January.
Spanish media outlet, AS Dairo reported earlier today that Sevilla are in ‘fear’ of losing out on one of their best players as Man Utd have the resources and are ready to activate the release clause in the contract of Jules Kounde.
Jules Kounde was a subject of transfer interest from Chelsea in the summer but Sevilla refused to sell as the Blues were only ready to pay €50 million for the player.
Kounde could now be heading to Man Utd as the club looks to sort out their current defensive challenges. Man Utd have struggled defensively this season Raphael Varane’s injury problems do not make things easier for the Red devils.
According to ABC de Sevilla, Jules Kounde has been a Man Utd target in the past and the premier league side are now looking to ‘reactivate’ their interest in the France international and they could get a deal done for the player as early as the January transfer window.
If Man Utd eventually make available the resources to trigger Kounde’s €80 million release clause, it would just be a question of whether or not the Sevilla defender would fancy a move to Old Trafford.
