Man Utd confirm absence of three Key players from Chelsea clash

Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday as they look to end their poor run of form in the premier league.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer got fired as Man Utd boss after the 4-1 loss to Watford last weekend leaving Michael Carrick in charge as caretaker manager. German tactician Ralf Ragnick has reportedly agreed a deal to join Man Utd but he definitely won’t be able to take charge of the game against Chelsea due to issues surrounding work permit.

The Red Devils beat Villareal 2-0 on Tuesday in the champions league and would like to continue that run into Sunday but they won’t be at full strength for the trip to London as they’re set to be without some key players.

French midfielder Paul Pogba remains a long-term absentee while captain Harry Maguire is suspended for the clash after picking up two yellow cards which accumulated to a red in last weekend’s game away at Vicarage road.

French centre-back Raphael Varane is also set to remain an absentee as he’s recovering from a hamstring injury he picked up against Atalanta earlier this month.

Man Utd now find themselves in a not too favourable position as they’d be without their most preferred centre-back pairing. The Red devils are now left with Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, and Phil Jones as primary centre-back options with Jones last playing a competitive game for Man Utd way back in 2020.
