Kieran Tierney sets his stance amid Barcelona & Real Madrid interest

Tierney is coming off the back of a strong international break with Scotland, having scored and assisted in their two friendly matches.

With Arsenal, the 24-year-old has shaken off competition from Nuno Tavares and an October injury to remain a starter for the Gunners this season, leading to talk of interest from major European clubs for a summer transfer.

Football.London report that Tierney has indeed been shortlisted by Real Madrid and Barcelona, among others, though they haven’t yet made official approaches for him.

The good news is that Tierney remains committed to Arsenal, he’s happy with the club, and he has no intention of leaving during the remainder of his contract to 2026.

The Sunday Post had reported that Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is determined to ensure the club make a move for Tierney this summer, and they’re preparing a £50m bid.

Ancelotti previously tried to sign Tierney for Napoli in 2019, but he lost out to Arsenal. A glowing report from Real chief scout Juni Calafat had seemingly revived his interest.

These rumours aren’t new, with AS reporting the same thing in early March, and El Espanol also linking Tierney with a move to Madrid in February.
