Key Chelsea player ‘expected to miss’ Champions League clash

Chelsea have a big game tomorrow that they are preparing for right now.

Not only is this a huge Champions League game with a lot of weight to get a result, but it will also be Graham Potter’s first game in charge of Chelsea after being appointed last week.
Potter replaces Thomas Tuchel, who was sacked by the club on Wednesday morning.

The former Brighton manager is now in place and has only completed a handful of training sessions with his new team. Today was a live session of the club which saw some notable absentees.

N’Golo Kante is still injured, as we all knew. But Edouard Mendy was also absent from training, which of course raised many questions about his availability tomorrow.

Football London’s Adam Newson reports that Mendy is injured and expected to miss tomorrow’s game as a result.
