Well, Arsenal loanee William Saliba hasn’t been rewarded with a senior call-up to the France squad.
There was talk about Saliba – a £27 million signing by Arsenal – winning a first senior cap for the upcoming international break.
Saliba has been in stunning form for Marseille since leaving Arsenal on loan this past summer.
But he’s been particularly brilliant since the last international break.
In fact, the 20-year-old defender even stopped the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe during a clash against Paris Saint-Germain last month.
But Didier Deschamps has omitted him from the selection.
Here’s how some fans of the Emirates Stadium club reacted on Twitter, responding to a tweet from Charles Watts, who covers the club exclusively for Goal:
HIS TIME WILL COME
If Saliba continues to impress in Ligue 1, there’s just no doubt that he’ll get his moment eventually.
He has been making too much noise – in a good way – to continue to get overlooked forever.
The problem for the Arsenal-owned powerhouse is that unfortunately, France have a lot of brilliant, experienced cenetral defenders and getting in ahead of them is just difficult.
But he will so long as he maintains this form for the French side.
