Chelsea beat Chesterfield 5-1 in the FA Cup last night and several players caught the eye one of whom was 17-year old academy star Lewis Hall.
Hall looked very comfortable at left-back on the night against Chesterfield and the youngster was involved in two Chelsea goals, assisting Romelu Lukaku for Chelsea’s third before Andreas Christensen headed in a rebound from his shot few minutes to halftime.
Callum Hudson-Odoi played at left wing-forward directly in front of Lewis Hall and he was full of praise for the teenager’s performance.
“He was amaing. I said to him throughout the whole game just keep playing the way you are playing.” Hudson-Odoi told the Chelsea website
“From early you could spot it, how confident he was on the ball, driving with the ball. Defensively he was solid as well and I’m very happy for him. Hopefully he can keep going.”
Hall was voted man of the match by the fans after the game and he’s been tipped to break into the Chelsea first team after clearly impressing Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea have been drawn against Plymouth in the fourth round of the FA Cup and it is fixtures like this that presents youngsters an opportunity to showcase their talents.
