Good news as Leicester planning a move for £8m rated Arsenal star, Arterta and Edu set sight on their target

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno is attracting interest from Premier League rivals Leicester City as the German looks to secure an exit from the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The Gunners are open to letting Leno leave the club following the arrival of Matt Turner as Aaron Ramsdale’s understudy, with the German shot-stopper falling further down the pecking order in Mikel Arteta’s squad. Ramsdale replaced Leno as Arsenal’s no.1 goalkeeper last season following a £25million move from Sheffield United.

The 30-year-old made just eight appearances for the north London outfit last season and wants to secure a move away from the Emirates to play regular first team football. Newly-promoted side Fulham have shown significant interest in the German goalkeeper but now could face competition from the Foxes with Kasper Schmeichel’s future in doubt with Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Leicester are considering a move for Leno as a potential target to replace Schmeichel, who has an agreement with Nice, according to GFFN. The Foxes need to sell before they can buy due to their difficult financial situation this summer, meaning a move for Arsenal’s German keeper would only happen once Schmeichel has left Rodgers’ side.

The Gunners could help speed up Leno’s possible move to Leicester by accelerating a deal for Youri Tielemans. football.london understands the north Londoners remain interested in the Belgium international but are yet to make an official offer for the midfielder.
