According to reports, Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech ‘definitely wants to leave Chelsea’ amidst interest from German club Borrusia Dortmund.
German media outlet BILD Sports are reporting that Borrusia Dortmund intend to be active in the January transfer window and Hakim Ziyech who is Keen on a move away from Chelsea is a potential target for the Bundesliga outfit.
Reports emerged days ago that Hakim Ziyech was disappointed at the dismissal of Frank Lampard as Chelsea boss earlier this year as his chances have been limited under Lampard’s successor Thomas Tuchel.
Ziyech joined Chelsea from Ajax in 2020 but the first half of his first season at Stamford Bridge was hampered by incessant injuries and his return to full fitness in January coincided with Frank Lampard getting the axe.
The Moroccan international’s role at Chelsea has since been limited and he reportedly wants to leave. His contract expires in 2025 and Borussia Dortmund will be interested in taking him on loan in January.
Ziyech has been able to manage just seven starts in all competitions this season and apart from his goal against Villareal in the Uefa Super Cup in August, the former Ajax star has scored only one goal which was the winner in Chelsea’s last champions league game against Malmo 10 days ago.
