Chelsea ready to push for £100 million midfield signing in January

Chelsea have been linked with the signing of West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.

According to Football.London, Chelsea are ready to push for the defensive midfielder who has grown into one of the best in his position both in the premier league and in the whole of Europe.

Rice is a product of the Chelsea academy and he was released by the club as a teenager and rumours linking him with a return to his boyhood club has always lingered and would continue to linger as long as the 22-year old remains at West Ham.

With the persistent injury issues of N’golo Kanté, signing another midfielder looks ideal for Chelsea and French midfielder Aurielen Tchouanemi has also been linked.

If Chelsea are to sign Rice, they might have to break the bank for the Englishman who is said to be valued by West Ham at around £80-100 million and the Blues would likely face competition from the likes of Man Utd who have also identified the England international as a prime target next summer.

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is a great fan of Rice and he’s not hidden his administration for the 22-year old whom he praised before Chelsea faced West Ham last month.
