Chelsea defender Malang Sarr reportedly left London for Milan on Sunday in order to facilitate a January move to Serie A Club Inter Milan.
This is according to SportMediaSet who reports that the French centre-back flew to Milan upon realizing that he won’t be part of the Chelsea squad that faced Manchester United on Sunday.
Malang Sarr joined Chelsea from French club Nice in the summer of 2020 on a free transfer before heading out on loan to Portuguese giants FC Porto.
Sarr’s loan spell at Porto was far from stellar last season as he couldn’t nail a starting spot in the long run at the club. The 22-year old returned to Chelsea in the summer and couldn’t secure another loan move away. Hence, he had to remain at the club beyond the summer despite being down below the pecking order.
Afrer just one premier league start and a few appearances in cup competitions, Sarr is now set to join Inter Milan in a loan deal with an option to purchase and according to SportMediaSet, the deal is worth €15 million and ‘close’ to being agreed.
With negotiations said to be already on, this is certainly one to keep an eye on as the winter transfer window opens in January.
