Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has been speaking to the media today ahead of Chelsea’s game at home to Manchester United on Sunday.
The Blues gaffer quickly addressed Ben Chilwell’s injury issue as the left-back picked up a frightening injury in the champions league game against Juventus on Tuesday.
Thomas Tuchel has now confirmed that the defender has a ‘partial injury’ to his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and according to the manager, “the next six weeks will tell the story.”
“We are very positive because the first reaction of the body was positive. The full focus is towards the next six weeks to bring him back to the pitch to play. There’s no rush and pressure.” Said Tuchel in his presser.
“We need to talk about it in six weeks. There is a best and worst case. It doesn’t help if we speak about worst case scenarios. The decision is made. We will give updates if we have.”
Chilwell will therefore be definitely absent for the rest of the year and this comes as a big blow to Chelsea who are set to be without a very important player and Marcos Alonso is now expected to start at the left wing-back position for the Blues on Sunday.
