This report comes as a little bit of a surprise given the fact that Mikel Arteta seems to be doing well presently with Arsenal.
The Spaniard replaced his compatriot Unai Emery at the helm of the Arsenal team in 2019 and won the FA Cup in 2020. Arteta then saw his team experience a terrible run that made the 2020/21 season one to forget and the signs were not encouraging at the start of thi sseason but the manager has been able to turn things around with his side sitting fourth in the premier league, on course for champions league qualification.
Arsenal are however already envisaging life after Mikel Arteta as stories from Brazil say the Gunners want to hire Brazil national team coach, Tite.
Arsenal technical director Edu Gaspar is said to have a good relationship with Tite after working as Brazil’s team coordinator between 2016 and 2019, and he is said to also know the manager from his time with the national team and Corinthians. According to Globo Esporte via Sport Witness, Edu is ‘at the forefront of the talks, which are still at an early stage’.
They further report that the plan is to sign a contract with Tite at the end of the 2022 world cup in Qatar which is when the manager plans to leave the Brazilian national team.
Arsenal according to the report have already set their sights on starting the 2023/24 season with Tite and Sport Witness provide good backing to this latest claim by stating that it “was first made on commentary during Brazil’s 4-0 win over Chile”, with Globo thereafter verifying the information.
