Italian side AS Roma are reportedly interested in a move for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.
The Chelsea centre-back has less than one year left on his current contract and talks over a new contract do not seem to be yielding fruitful results for the European champions as things stand.
Rudiger intends to be one of the highest paid players at Chelsea as he hopes to earn nothing less than £200,000 per week but Chelsea are reportedly offering less to the German in a new contract.
Rudiger has been a mainstay in the Chelsea defense since Thomas Tuchel arrived the club in January as he’s grown into one of the best centre-backs in Europe helping Chelsea to the champions league triumph in May.
Clubs like Real Madrid and PSG have been credited with interest in the German centre-half as they closely monitor his contract situation so as to snap him up on a free transfer next summer.
According to Italian media outlet, Corriere dello Sport, AS Roma are also monitoring Rudiger’s contract situation as they plan an ambitious move to lure the German back to the club where he first played before joining Chelsea in 2017.
Antonio Rudiger has though expressed his Interest to stay at Chelsea and it is understood that remaining a Chelsea player is the defender’s first choice but that would only happen if both parties agree on a new contract as soon as possible.
