Arsenal have been a little bit off-color of late. They have lost three games in a row and struggled to register wins against the bigger teams, leading them to yet again lose confidence.
Additionally, Goal reports that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has suddenly suffered a fresh injury concern with striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missing Friday ‘s training session.
The Gabonese was training as normal at the start of the week even until Thursday. It’s unclear why Aubameyang didn’t show up at training on Friday, but there is speculation that he could be physically ill.
If the news is true, then Arteta has a couple of alternatives he can use. He might start Alexandre Lacazette up front. Eddie Nketiah is another option but there is an exciting third option.
Folarin Balogun is a player who’s always in high demand, he has been seeking first-team senior football or looking to join a new club altogether.
The 20 year old has been impressive so far with his 16 Premier League 2 goals in just 13 appearances.
Per Mertesacker said earlier this week that Balogun is going to be loaned out in January.
Although Aubameyang injury could open the door for him to prove himself when Arsenal host Southampton at the Emirates.
