Arsenal are back in Premier League action tonight as they welcome Aston Villa to the Emirates Stadium.
From being last up in gameweek eight, the Gunners are first up in gameweek nine as they look to return to winning ways following back-to-back draws against Brighton and Crystal Palace either side of the international break.
However, failure to beat Palace on Monday night means Arsenal have already lost the chance to climb into the top-four – albeit temporarily – with a win tonight.
Whilst victory will take them into the top half of the table, the north London outfit don’t have a good recent record against Villa, having lost the last three Premier League meetings – including a 3-0 reverse in the corresponding fixture last season.
Mikel Arteta can’t call upon Granit Xhaka to address this poor record and it remains to be seen if Bukayo Saka will be available for selection after being forced off against Palace.
