Arsenal told to sign £25.2m transfer target who ‘bullied’ Virgil van Dijk this season

According to former Tottenham striker Darren Bent, Ivan Toney would be a fantastic fit for Arsenal.
Toney had a fantastic season with The Bees in 2020/21, scoring 31 goals and providing 10 assists in 45 Championship games.

The 25-year-old has continued his good form this season, scoring four goals and giving four assists while also displaying his exceptional aerial skills, which Arsenal defender Ben White battled with during the Premier League’s season opener.

Given that French international Alexandre Lacazette’s contract expires at the conclusion of the season, Bent claims that technical director Edu should try to get the English centre-forward to the Emirates Stadium.

“It seemed like every game he played last season he got better, and today he’s winning every header and fighting hard for the team.”

“Toney bullied the entire Liverpool defence, [Bryan] Mbeumo as well, he was outstanding,” he said. “We talk about Van Dijk being back and Liverpool being so good now defensively, but today he was playing in second gear.”
