Arsenal have been linked with a move for two Barcelona players, Ousmane Dembele and Philipe Coutinho.
Ousmane Dembele who joined Barcelona in the summer of 2017 in a deal worth £106 million has a contract with the Catalan giants which expires next summer and there’s been no sign of a renewal yet as Arsenal are lurking to see if they can sign the Frenchman as a replacement for the seemingly inconsistent Nicolas Pepe.
Philipe Coutinho who signed for Barca in January 2018 is another player linked with Arsenal amidst talks of an exit from Barcelona. The Brazilian who joined in a £136 million deal from Liverpool has not hit the ground running and same can be said about Dembele whose progress at the nou camp has been hampered by persistent injuries.
According to the Mirror via Football.London, a swap deal between Arsenal and Barcelona might be on the cards as La Blaugrana are also interested in signing out of favour Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
According to the report, Barca doing a deal for Aubameyang is however dependent on whether or not Man City forward Ferran Torres eventually signs this January.
Torres is reportedly very close to signing for Barcelona in a deal worth around £55 million but if the deal falls through which is quite unlikely at the moment, then Barca could turn to Aubameyang and Arsenal could leverage on that to propose a swap deal for either Dembele or Coutinho or even both players.
