Lille midfielder, Renato Sanches believes that both Arsenal and Milan are interested in signing him, and he feels ready to move to a bigger team, although it is the Rossoneri he has talked up more than the London giants.

Portugal international has had a unique career so far, moving from Benfica to Bayern Munich as a youngster, spending an unlikely loan spell at Swansea City before leaving Germany for Lille in summer 2019.

While his move to the Bundesliga giants didn’t work out, he has had a successful spell in France, winning the Ligue 1 title last campaign while also establishing himself in the Portugal national team, racking up 32 caps.

Sanches now sounds set to take the next step in his career and have another crack at a bigger club, amid interest from north London and Milan in his services. ‘Milan and Arsenal are maybe interested, I spoke with my agent about it, but I can’t say any more,’ Renato said.

While Liverpool, Man City and Newcastle United have all been linked with an interest in the Portuguese midfielder as well, it looks reasonable to take him at his word that Arsenal and Milan have shown the most significant signs of wanting to make a move.

Ex-Arsenal footballer Kevin Campbell believes he would be a great signing for the Gunners, encouraging the London giants to make a bid for the 24-year-old midfielder who is under a deal at Lille until 2023.
