Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira is most likely heading to Italian Serie A side Florentina in the summer.
Torreira has impressed on loan for Florentina and the Italian club are clearly interested in sealing a permanent move immediately his loan deal expires.
All the parties involved are okay with the player joining La Viola on a permanent transfer but the bane remains the €15 million option to buy fee placed by Arsenal in the initial loan deal with reports from Italy suggesting that Florentina would love to get the midfielder for a discount price.
According to Gazetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Florentina are ‘confident’ that Arsenal would be generous enough to go below the €15 million asking price.
The report then goes further to state that Arsenal will however, not be bullied into agreeing a fee that is less than the price stated in the clause and Florentina on the other hand would love to get a deal done at all cost.
Arsenal therefore have a clear upper hand in any negotiations as Lucas Torreira has grown into a much beloved player for the La Viola faithful and Florentina would not want to lose out on signing such an influential player because they had fallen short of a couple of millions.
