The summer transfer window promises to be a big one for Arsenal as signing a new striker is of utmost priority to Mikel Arteta’s club.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s departure to Barcelona in January has left a void that needs to be filled and the uncertain futures of both Alexander Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah leaves the Gunners with no choice but to sign a new striker.
Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin is one of the striker’s being linked with a move to the Emirates and the Gunners might have received a boost in regards to the potential transfer according to latest reports.
football.london reports that Everton are interested in signing Real Madrid flop Luka Jovic in the summer, a signing that looks very feasible given the fact that Real Madrid would be desperate to offload the former Eintracht Frankfurt striker in order to pave way for prospective signings like Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.
Jovic has been underwhelming since joining Real Madrid in 2019 and it is understood that all parties would be ready to part ways this summer. Hence, Everton could easily get a Calvert-Lewin replacement which automatically increases Arsenal’s chances of signing the Englishman.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on as the story continues to unfold as we head into the summer transfer window.
