Aaron Ramsdale: Not really tested too much but generally calm and assured on the ball at the back. One really nice ball along the ground to Granit Xhaka that broke the defensive lines in the first half. 7.
Cedric: Another really assured game from the Portuguese full back who has proved his worth to this Arsenal squad in recent weeks. Got forward well with typically accurate delivery and was generally defensively solid. 7.
Ben White: Was given license to get forward plenty as Arsenal dominated the game and did his fair share to keep Brentford penned in. Dealt well with the pacey threat of Brian Mbeumo on the counter as well. 7.
Gabriel: Stood up well for his teammates as Thomas Partey was floored by Pontus Jansson. Defensively good as well and used his pace well to deal with any issues created by the Brentford counter. 7.
Kieran Tierney: Some moments where he looked a little panicked on the ball as his technical play was somewhat exposed, but the Scot got forward nicely and was inches away from a first half assist. 6.
Thomas Partey: Focused throughout, the Ghanaian kept things simple in front of the back four and was a good presence in starting some attacks. A lovely counter attacking assist for Bukayo Saka’s goal was the highlight. 7.
Substitutes –
Nicolas Pepe: Nearly a goal on his first chance in 2022 in an Arsenal shirt, but was blocked. Could have won a penalty and looked really motivated after coming on. Arteta would have liked what he saw. 7.
Eddie Nketiah: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
