Arsenal Move Closer To Signing Exciting Striker As Arteta Is Set To Sanction Transfer
Colorado Rapids starlet Darren Yapi is training with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal ahead of a potential move to the Premier League giants, as reported by MLS Soccer.
It emerged last week that Dantouma Toure, a 17-year-old winger born in Guinea but made in the USA, had touched down in North London for a spell with the Gunners.
Toure is contracted to Colorado Rapids and made his MLS debut recently, also attracting the attention of Scottish Premiership champions Rangers.
Toure, however, is not the only Denver-based teenager on Arsenal’s radar.
WILL ARSENAL SIGN A TRIO OF MLS STARLETS?
According to MLS Soccer, Arsenal have taken another Rapids starlet on trial. Yapi signed a ‘homegrown contract’ with the Western Conference leaders earlier this year and has represented the United States at U17 level.
It remains to be seen whether Yapi, or Toure for that matter, can impress enough to earn themselves a move to one of the biggest clubs in England.
Arsenal are also running the rule over Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, an Ontario-born forward likened to Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies due to his searing pace.
