The 22-year old is attracting interests from Ligue 1, La Liga and the Premier League amongst other top leagues in Europe and Arsenal are among the clubs being linked.

There is no gainsaying that Arsenal would need reinforcements in their striking department this summer given the uncertainty surrounding the futures of both Alexander Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah, and Uruguayan striker, Darwin Nunez is among the long list of strikers the Gunners are eyeing as a potential replacement for their strikers who will be out of contract this summer.

Nunez has scored 26 goals in 33 appearances for Benfica this season, little wonder he’s being targeted by Europe’s top guns and as a matter of fact, four premier league clubs are reportedly interested but according to Portuguese media outlet, Record, it is Arsenal who lead the race to sign the Uruguayan ahead of Man Utd, Newcastle, and West Ham.

It’s still not certain whether Arsenal will eventually sign Darwin Nunez though, as according to Record, Benfica have placed a whopping £67 million price tag on the striker. Arsenal have only paid above that amount for a player once and that was when they signed Nicolas Pepe who cost £70 million.

Of course, Arsenal’s spending record does not show much promise in regards to this deal being completed as it looks like another high risk transfer but we would definitely find out the Gunners decision in the summer transfer window.
