Arsenal take the short trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in what promises to be a pulsating London derby.
Arsenal would need to be at the top of their game away at Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace as they needed an injury time goal from Alexander Lacazette to secure a draw at the Emirates in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
There’s no gainsaying that Arsenal will need to be at full strength to beat Crystal Palace. Hence, all eyes will be on some key players who have been sidelined before or during the international break.
Japanese right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu has missed a lot of games for Arsenal in the second half of the season and could not even join up with the Japanese squad during the international break but the defender could return to the squad against Crystal Palace on Monday but he is most likely to start from the bench.
Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka who was an injury scare against Aston villa before the international break and also had to miss linking up with England due to Covid is now fit and set to return on Monday while goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale’s return date is still unknown after missing the Aston Villa game with a ‘minor’ injury.
Another English star, Emile Smith Rowe is also set to return after missing England vs Switzerland last Saturday with a minor fitness issue. Smith Rowe came off the bench in the Three Lions win over Ivory Coast on Tuesday and is now in pole position to play for Arsenal on Monday.
