Arsenal defender Cedric Soares has been linked with a move away from the club this winter.
The Portuguese right-back has struggled to establish himself in the Arsenal first xi this season ever since the summer arrival of Japanese right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu from Italian side Bologna
Cedric Soares played in Arsenal’s FA Cup loss to Nottingham Forest last night but “did not cover himself in glory during the match, and has been the subject of criticism. He’s only played 574 minutes of football so far this season, and it’s clear he isn’t a key player for Mikel Arteta.” Per Sport Witness.
According to Spanish publication AS via Sport Witness, Cedric has now been offered to Spanish club Atletico Madrid this January.
Atletico are obviously in need of a right-back after letting Kieran Trippier join Newcastle this January and Cedric Soares has emerged as one of the leading candidates to replace the Englishman.
The Spanish champions will however prefer a loan deal with an option to buy in the summer.
