Arsenal defender Callum Chambers has reportedly been offered to AS Roma as the Serie A Club are planning to be heavily involved in the January transfer window.
This is according to Italian media outlet, Corriere Dello Sport who are reporting that despite the international break AS Roma are working seriously on their plans for the winter.
Jose Mourinho’s side are looking to sell players in order to make way for new recruitments in January and they’re not sleeping on the chance of getting Callum Chambers who has been made available for a move in January.
Chambers is in dire need of playing time and since his return from a spell on the sidelines he has found it difficult to break into Mikel Arteta’s back four as he’s had just four appearances under his belt this season and this is seen as not enough for a player just returning from an injury spell.
It is Callum Chambers’ versatility that interests AS Roma the most as his ability to play both as a centre-back and a right-back is seen as a perfect fit for Jose Mourinho’s side.
The defender’s contract expires next summer and this is a situation Roma look to capitalize on as they plot the January move.
