Brazilian wonderkid Savinho has caught the eye in Brazil for local outfit Atletico Mineiro and he’s been attracting interest from Europe all this while.
Reports emanating from the Brazilian media have strongly linked Savinho to Manchester City with club owners reportedly interested in signing him for one of their clubs.
It has repeatedly been claimed that the Manchester City owners are about to find a deal worth €6.5m, with potential €6m in bonuses, to land the teenager and let him develop at one of their clubs.
Latest reports however say that Arsenal are very much in the running to land the 17-year old and according to UOL via Sport Witness, the Gunners ‘feed the hope’ of spoiling the City Group’s advanced negotiations for Savinho and win the race for the Brazilian teenager.
The report further goes to say that Arsenal have been trying for weeks to look for a way to present a ‘more interesting offer, on a financial point of view and also on career projection’.
The plan of the Man City owners is to sign Savinho for one of their clubs before letting him go to develop on loan en route to joining Man City and Arsenal are now looking to capitalize on this by presenting a more interesting offer that would see the Brazilian go straight into Mikel Arteta’s first team squad at Arsenal.
It is very likely that Savinho would prefer to join Arsenal as the Gunners are set to give him a more assured route to top level football in Europe.
